Feargal Sharkey is a Northern Irish singer-songwriter who first gained fame as the lead vocalist of the
punk band
The Undertones. After the band disbanded in 1983, Sharkey launched a successful solo career, with hits such as "A Good Heart" and "You Little Thief".
Sharkey also served as the head of the UK music industry trade body, UK Music, from 2008 to 2011, where he campaigned for better protection of musicians' rights.
