Adam Ant, also known as Stuart Leslie Goddard, made his name as the lead singer of Adam and the Ants. He achieved three UK number one singles between 1980 and 1983, with tracks including ‘Stand and Deliver’ and ‘Goody Two Shoes.’
Ant’s reasoning for choosing his stage name was because “I wanted to be Adam, because Adam was the first man. Ant, I chose because, if there's a nuclear explosion, the ants will survive.”
