Often seen as ‘the smart Beatle’ John Lennon initially took on a role as the leader of The Beatles. He had a rich solo career, often in collaboration with his wife Yoko Ono. They started a band together in 1969 called ‘The Plastic Ono Band.’

Lennon was involved with a total of 25 singles that made number one in the US Hot 100 chart and has been inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame twice, with the Beatles in 1988 and as a solo artist in 1994.
