Best known for being the lead singer and lyricist of Led Zeppelin, his first well known solo project was called The Honeydrippers. His solo career saw success with 1983 single Big Log and Ship of Fools.
In 2011, Plant was ranked as the greatest lead singer of all time by Rolling Stone readers. His lyrics for Led Zeppelin were often mystical and spiritual, alluding to Norse and Welsh mythology as well as the writing of J. R. R. Tolkien.
