Bette Midler was born in Hawaii in 1945 and went on to appear in many shows all over the USA throughout the mid-1960s. She then turned to singing and began to attract a following throughout the early 70s. She went on to release 14 studio albums and sold over 30 million records globally.
Her most famous song ‘Wind Beneath My Wings’ was covered by many artists including Roger Whittaker, Gladys Knight & the Pips, and Gary Morris. Midler’s version won the Record of the Year for 1989 at the Grammy Awards Ceremony.
