George Michael formed Wham! back in 1981 along with childhood school friend Andrew Ridgeley. The duo’s first hit ‘Young Guns (Go For It!) propelled them to chart success in 1982 after a last-minute Top of the Pops performance for the BBC.

George Michael’s debut solo album ‘Faith’ came out in 1987, and spent twelve weeks at number one on the Billboard 200. During his solo career alone, he achieved a total of seven UK number-ones, including ‘Faith’, ‘Don’t Let the Sun Go Down On Me’, and ‘Careless Whisper’.
