Signing with Motown aged just 11, Stevie Wonder quickly gained the professional name ‘Little Stevie Wonder.’ Wonder’s ‘classic period’ is considered to be from 1972 to 1976, including albums ‘Innervisions’ and ‘Songs in the Key of Life’ – these records have influenced many other artists.

His 1976 single ‘Sir Duke’ was written as a tribute to jazz pianist Duke Ellington, with the lyrics also containing references to several other musicians he admired.
