Product Details
Our Comments: Before King Crimson there was Giles, Giles and Fripp - Robert Fripp with the brothers Michael and Peter Giles - and this 1968 Deram album was the only thing they released, a strange mix of psych-pop and Goons-style comedy that sold almost nothing. Fripp reckoned from his royalty statement it shifted about 500 copies, which is probably lower than the true figure, but either way it barely registered at the time. Most copies are stereo; this is the scarcer mono, DML 1022. Desite a very visible surface mark across the first 3-4 tracks on side 1, this copy is in pretty decent shape and the surface mark does not cause significant detriment to playback. It does cause a repeated, quiet click that mostly does not overpower the music. Otherwise, the copy is in typical VG+ condition, with light surface marks and no noise that overpowers the music. Graded G overall due to the offensive looking nature of the mark on side 1.
