Our Comments: Saucerful is the only Pink Floyd album with all five members on it - Syd Barrett on his way out, David Gilmour on his way in, and Barrett's 'Jugband Blues' closing the record as his swansong. Britain was still largely a mono-buying market in 1968, and the mono mix is different from the stereo, which is why this is the version Floyd collectors go looking for. This is a first UK mono pressing, Columbia SX 6258, with -1 matrices on both sides, the first cut for each. Stickers on sleeve rear. This copy came to us alongside the copy of Piper At The Gates Of Dawn from the September Ultra-Rare Drop, and hence the record itself is in fairly similar though slightly better condition. This record has retained a reasonable amount of its original shine, and plays through with a more consistent, quiet crackle compared to the louder pops and clicks on the other release. This one has a good number of surface marks, though none that should cause overpowering noise or lead the record to skip. The background noise does somewhat overpower the playback in quieter sections, but on the whole this copy is in reasonable shape.
