Here's our rundown of the top 10 rarest records we sold in September 2026! This month ranges widely across genres and eras, taking in the synth-punk of Suicide's revered 1977 debut and a signed copy of Dio's Holy Diver along the way.
Other highlights include the psychedelic Small Faces classic Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake, a rare early Coldplay EP in The Blue Room, and the roots reggae of The Wailers' Catch A Fire.
Topping this month's list is an original 1971 UK pressing of Black Sabbath's Master of Reality - remarkable for keeping the shape of its "box" sleeve, which is almost always found flattened after years of storage.

10 - Suicide - Suicide - First Press - LP
Starting us off is a US first press of Suicide's self-titled debut. Released on Red Star Records in 1977, it helped invent synth-punk and remains widely revered - you can hear its influence in the likes of Bauhaus and Joy Division. As one Discogs user puts it: "This is where Elvis Presley meets Throbbing Gristle" - quite the combination.
9 - Coldplay - Parachutes - EU First Press - LP
Taking a bit of a 180 genre-wise, next up is the first EU press of Coldplay's debut, Parachutes. It came out in 2000 - right at vinyl's low ebb, when very few records were being pressed at all.
8 - Small Faces - Ogdens' Nut Gone Flake - Mono LP
Many of the records in this list came from our Ultra-Rare Record Drop, where we drop the scarcest records we came across the previous month. This album by The Small Faces is famous for its packaging: a round gatefold sleeve modelled on a tobacco tin. This copy was the original 1968 UK mono pressing.
7 - Warhorse - Red Sea - LP
The second and final album from Warhorse, the hard rock band formed by Nick Simper after his exit from the original Deep Purple line-up. This copy was an original UK pressing on Vertigo's swirl label, complete with the original swirl-pattern inner sleeve. This copy was in practically unplayed NM condition, making it a very rare addition to any collection. Very few records make it from the early 70s to today in such good shape.
6 - Dio - Holy Diver - Signed LP
This copy of Dio's Holy Diver came from a collection that held a good number of signed Dio records. This copy is signed by Ronnie James Dio and Jimmy Bain. The seller was a huge fan who had some of his records signed at the Birmingham NEC in December 1987; as a fan club member, he was allowed backstage into hospitality after the gig.
5 - Coldplay - The Blue Room E.P. - 12"
Twice in one month... Before Parachutes, Coldplay released the The Blue Room EP in 1999 on Parlophone Records. It carries an early version of 'Don't Panic' as well as 'High Speed'. This copy was a limited, numbered edition, with this one being No. 0613.
4 - Led Zeppelin - Led Zeppelin III - LP
Released in 1970, this first press of III by Led Zeppelin has survived in EX/EX condition, making it a particularly special find. This album took Zeppelin from hard rock into acoustic folk and was an unexpected turn in the band's sound. This album sleeve features the famous rotating wheel that reveals different images through the die-cut cover as you turn it - a gimmick dropped from later pressings.
3 - The Verve - Urban Hymns - LP
A quick seller from one of our recent Ultra-Rare Drops. This was an era-defining album by The Verve, featuring tracks including 'Bitter Sweet Symphony' and 'The Drugs Don't Work.' This issue is scarce, having been limited to 5,000 copies and sold in the Verve brown mailing sleeve.

2 - The Wailers - Catch A Fire - LP
Another that sells rapidly whenever we're lucky enough to acquire a copy...
1 - Black Sabbath - Master Of Reality - LP
And in first place for September? This copy of Black Sabbath's Master of Reality. Released in 1971, it's an original UK issue, indicated by its "box" style sleeve. Most copies turn up with the box flattened after years of storage, but this one reached us with its shape still intact - something we're not sure we've ever seen before. Another reminder that condition plays a huge part in a record's rarity and value - especially with early Black Sabbath!
